Our organically crafted Kukui Nut Oil, also called Candlenut Oil, is cold-pressed from the nuts of the Aleurites moluccanus. It is a semi-clear to light yellow liquid having little or no odor, and blends well with most formulations. Kukui Oil is exceptionally soothing, protective and emollient.

Please note that we do not grow Kukui nuts here at Crooked Cock Farm as they are not native to our region. We ethically source the nuts from small farms in Hawaii and process into oil for use in several of our farm-made products.

Now the Hawaii's official state tree, Kukui means enlightenment in Hawaiian. For centuries, Hawaiians have used Candlenut Oil to moisturize and protect the skin from salt water, harsh sun, drying winds and other environmental elements.

Benefits:

Kukui nut oil is easily absorbed by the deepest layers of the skin and forms a protective barrier that protects against environmental damage. It locks in moisture levels by forming a physical barrier to water loss, preventing further dryness and dehydration.

Kukui oil is used as skin lightener and to reduce the appearance of burn scars. This oil works at the cellular level to help reduce skin redness and inflammation, help skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and dry and chapped skin. It also boosts collagen production and promotes the sloughing of dead skin cells to create space for new cells.

Because Kukui nut oil is lightweight, it's also a great option for those with finer hair. And while its deeply moisturizing for the scalp and can help ease flaking, Kukui oil won't clog pores or make hair look flat or greasy. The oil soothes sore joints and muscles which makes it very effective for people with arthritis.
