About the Farm

Our goal is to focus on healing people naturally with the gifts plants offer us. We believe in ingredients you can say, traceability of where they come from, and freedom from unnecessary artificial chemicals.

The farm primarily grows medicinal herbs native to our area (Catskills, NY), but also have some tropical or Indian plants growing here protected from our harsh winters in our greenhouse and indoors. We use these plants in tinctures, bitters, smudge sticks, and skin care. The few items we source from other places, we make sure are ethically sourced, organic, and pesticide free just as if we had grown it ourselves.

We believe that plants evolve based on the environment they are grown in and, as such, can be a great compliment to traditional medicine which is forever locked in a certain state (though also frequently derived from plants!). To try to preserve as much of the natural goodness from our plant friends, we focus on minimal processing in every way we can - from cold processing most of our oils to using the minimal amount of preservatives in our products (and then only certified natural and organic!).

Everything we make is hand made with love. If you have any questions about how we've made an item or what might help solve an issue you are having, reach out! We love engaging with our customers and finding the right fit for them.

What's in a name?

Our friend group was nicknamed The Crooked Cock Crew by our good friend, Sasha, due to the quirky stance our copper rooster weather vane has taken over the years. The poor bird took a beating during hurricane Irene and has just never been quite right ever since. It sits jauntily on top of the main house forever assuming the wind is from the North. We love it though, and the name, so we chose to make it our mascot.
