Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) is a plant that has been traditionally used for its potential medicinal properties, including its potential benefits for oral health. Comfrey leaves are known to contain compounds such as allantoin, which is believed to promote tissue healing and cell regeneration.
This is harvested and dried on the farm several times over the summer and is a key ingredient in our Healing Salve.

- Mouthwash: Add one teaspoon in 2 cups of boiled filtered water. Steep for 10-15 minutes then strain. Let it cool down then gently swish and rinse your mouth with the prepared mixture for at least 2 minutes. Do not swallow!
- Bone and Joint Support: Comfrey is traditionally known for its use in supporting bone and joint health, with historical applications for conditions like fractures and sprains.
- Skin Care: The presence of allantoin in Comfrey makes it valuable for skincare, potentially soothing and nourishing the skin.
